A Year of Giving

12/23/2016

At Blue Hills Bank, we’re always crunching numbers and during this Season of Giving, we thought you might like to hear how our giving has added up in 2016! In addition to giving sponsorships and grants to local organizations, our team of dedicated employees has supported the communities we serve, too:

Our employees volunteered more than 1,100 hours at various nonprofits and community-based organizations in 2016.

We walked a combined 270 miles and raised nearly $10,000 to help end hunger in the Walk for Hunger and climbed a total of 268 flights of stairs and raised another $10,000 to support Wediko Children’s Service’s mission to help children and families who struggle with mental illness.

Our team biked 3,686 miles and raised $267,000 to support the Dana Farber Cancer Institute through the Pan Mass Challenge. We look forward to bringing our team total to over $1 million in 2017!

We extended our financial literacy outreach to senior citizens and held seven Consumer Protection programs for more than 200 senior citizens and reached 10,000 more K-12 students through our Ms. Money financial literacy programs.

All told, Blue Hills Bank and the Blue Hills Bank Foundations gave nearly $1 million in sponsorships, grants and donations to community nonprofits in 2016.

Adding up these numbers gave us pause as we reflected on all we’ve accomplished in an effort to make our mark in the community. Here’s to even greater numbers in 2017!
