Blue Hills Bank Foundation Supports HP150 Celebration with $100,000 Donation

Hyde Park, MA –

Hyde Park is celebrating its 150th Anniversary and Blue Hills Bank is bringing the cake! With a $100,000 donation from the Blue Hills Bank Foundation and the commitment of some dedicated Hyde Parkers, HP150 promises to be a year-long celebration of Hyde Park’s history, vibrancy and pride.

Spearheaded by volunteer co-chairs Scott Smith and Michelle Consalvo, along with more than 100 volunteers, the HP150 Steering Committee is planning a year-long celebration with four main events: a Founder’s Day Celebration on April 21st at the George Wright Golf Course, a Family Fun Festival on June 9th at Kelly Field, an “I Remember When” Senior Citizen event at Blue Hill Collaborative on June 13th, and a Festival in the Streets (21+) on June 16th in Logan Square.

“Scott and I began talking about a potential 150th celebration years ago,” recalls Consalvo. “The enthusiasm for the idea grew as we started planning it. This is a huge endeavor that is only possible with the support of volunteers and, of course, the generous donation from the Blue Hills Bank Foundation. Hyde Park is fortunate to have a true community bank partner with us on this significant milestone.”

“Hyde Park is part of the DNA of Blue Hills Bank,” comments president and CEO of Blue Hills Bank, William M. Parent. “Our main office has been in the center of Logan Square since 1871 and dozens of our employees are Hyde Park residents. We are thrilled to be able to support this year-long, community-wide celebration and are proud to be Hyde Park’s community bank.”

Blue Hills Bank and the Blue Hills Bank Foundation have donated more than $1 million dollars annually to local nonprofits through grants and sponsorships over the last four years. The Menino YMCA, Hyde Park Main Streets, Riverside Theatre Works, Hyde Park Art Association/Menino Arts Center and the Hyde Park Emergency Food Pantry are just a few of the Hyde Park organizations that have benefitted from the bank and foundation’s philanthropic efforts.
